Inspired by Inspiration
The days were closing in fast, everyone was so excited to be blessed by the word, by the message that would come forth in two nights by the guest speaker. I maned my station at 9:30am on Wednesday morning to give God my time, the time that I so felt that was owed to him. See so many of us get it so confused, we think that God just want us to show up on Sunday, fellowship then go home; no he wants and deserve more. He wants our time, this particular day I would be volunteering time making sure our Single Sisters on Friday would have a gift bag. Later that day, I plug myself into the floral arena of things, preparing roses for the women for Friday night. Thursday God time was spent decorating his house for the guest speaker and Single Sisters that were to arrive on Friday.
I made many friendships in that entire week than I had made throughout high school it seemed; they all love God. It was invigorating for me to speak to many of the women that were present at the Church. Greeting so many beautiful faces with hugs, hand shakes, and warm smiles I was well on my way to feeling great. The highlight of the night is ready to hit the stage….lights…..camera….action….. Mrs Karen Abercrombie from the movie “The War Room”.
She so elegantly tell the tale of three stories; of three different scenarios of how a life for a women could be: single, married, and widowed. Each tell a tale of its own of a spiraling world of unglued, happy to sadden moments in a women’s life with her mate. Mrs. Abercrombie words inspires me to continue loving on God, putting him first in my life, remembering that he will always be there when no one else is there for the ride.
Inspiration came from the scriptures that Mrs. Abercrombie shared with over five hundred women. These women were excited about the words that were being shared with them, at one point the row that I was seated in began reciting the scriptures right along with Abercrombie, for they were too familiar with the word of God. God be the Glory for what had transpired on that night. God knows where to place people in your lives in order for you to walk in your next season. This week has been an humbling, amazing, great, God pleasing adventure for me. Remember God first, last, always.
