Does Cell Phones Ruin Relationships?

cell phoneAs I look around each and every day I see more and more Americans face down, thumbs and fingers going, not a care in the world and not paying attention to each other. People are sitting at the American table waiting on their food, one would think you could spend that time getting to know each other, asking about each other’s day, preparing to see each other that night or whenever; no your head is down in the lighted screen, square box, at times headphones in your ear.

At this point you may say that I have some, or a little hatred for them, and you ask who

are them? Them would be cell phones, I wish at times they would all disappear, vanish off the face of the earth. I wish we could go back to the good old days where a good relationship was based on you spending time with each other, looking in that person’s eyes at the table, without interruptions, smiling, laughing, holding, kissing; but no, you have to get that important call from the office.

You come home not to see your wife or girlfriend, but to spend time on the toilet with your phone, then just to get out, take a shower, eat dinner with your phone, watch television with your phone, go to bed with your phone, pay little to no attention to the living and breathing wife, husband, boyfriend, or girlfriend next to you, but spending time in bed on the phone whether it’s work or games it comes first then him or her.

So, you tell me CAN or does cell phones ruin relationships?

They Grow So Fast…

They Grow So Fast….

Boy, it seems like it was yesterday that you were changing their diaper or putting them down for a nap, now you are helping them in deciding which college is the best fit for that long road ahead of them.  Thinking in your mind that all you could remember is your experience in college, all the hard work, all the studying, all the clinical you had to attend then you snap out of it. Keeping in mind now this is not you it’s your child, they want you there, but they don’t want you there. They want the independence of walking the campus themselves just a few feet in front of you asking the questions that they know that you would asking and looking back or over at you for the occasional approval. They grow up so fast, better not take your eye off of them because one minute your are tying their shoe the next minute you are being ask which outfit looks right. As you stroll down the hallways of the campus with your child on the way to the dorms you watch the eagerness in their eyes as they look on with the tour to see what lurks behind the college roommates dorm. Will there be a messy room or will it be clean? Shockingly the room was clean, the roommates offer information and your child is as eager as a kindergarten getting on the bus for the first time. Once all the information was given out verbally the tour leaves the room,  your child happy as can be tells you verbatim everything that was said inside the dorm, making sure not to skip a beat. You think to yourself God knew what you needed and he provided it; and as the day ended you and your family sat by the river and enjoyed the beautiful day the Lord made.
